Public information sessions for Nonkqubela and Retreat PTIs

28 August 2023

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate intends to upgrade the Nonkqubela and Retreat Public Transport Interchanges (PTIs). The PTI upgrades involves improvements to minibus-taxi infrastructure, the reconstruction of roofs, new administration buildings, offices and trading spaces, new ablution facilities, improved vehicle/bus operations and improved sidewalks for safe pedestrian movement as well as improved traffic flow. The information session for the Nonkqubela PTI will be held on Wednesday, 30 August 2023, and the Retreat PTI will convene on Tuesday, 5 September 2023.

'The Public Transport Interchanges in Nonkqubela and Retreat play a significant role in providing safe and convenient minibus-taxi infrastructure. Commuters, traders and minibus-taxi drivers will also benefit greatly from these upgrades and it is therefore very important that local residents, land owners and businesses join us on the days in which we host the public information sessions. We rely on your wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that these transport interchanges are to your standard and accommodate all your needs. I encourage all to attend the upcoming sessions,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas.
